Thanksgiving Plans

Hey everyone! Before I start writing about my upcoming plans for thanksgiving, I want to ask. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Comment down below if you have any!

For a majority of my life, my family and I haven’t really celebrated Thanksgiving much. We don’t bust out the turkey or the mashed potatoes. We definitely don’t laugh over the dinner table about whatever’s going on in our lives. We don’t really do much.

But does this stop me from truly enjoying the holidays? Definitely not! I believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year’s Eve should be centered around focusing on your family and basking in their presence. Christmas trees, lights, and other decorations aren’t really needed because the holidays are all about spending time with your family!

Throughout the years, I’ve learned to be thankful of having my family around me. Though we don’t celebrate the holidays in the usual, conventional way that many other families do, the same feeling of love and appreciation still stands. I’m actually about to tear right now just thinking about how life has blessed my family and I with another year together.

It’s the simple things that matter.

So with the holidays coming up, I want to wish everyone a happy holidays. Life is so incredibly short and we never know when one of our loved ones will move on. I want to remind everyone to cherish the time we have with each other and to remember that even though your holidays may not always be jingle bells and happy sleigh riding, that there are things in life to be happy about!

Whether these things are simply waking up in the morning or even being able to hang out with friends who enjoy the same things you do. This post is getting very sappy and cliche but I thought it’d be important to share.

I also remembered that I didn’t actually explain my plans for Thanksgiving at all. With the holidays coming up, I’ll be spending time with my cats and my parents. We’ll munch on great food and though we won’t necessarily be huddling around the television to watch a movie together, I’ll be happy that we’re all spending our holidays together.

  1. Thank you for your greeting. I agree with you. It shouldn't really be about the whole traditional Thanksgiving feast, but mainly about spending time with your loved ones. My Thanksgiving actually included a turkey and mashed potatoes, but that isn't really my forte of a meal. I'm not used to that. But I definitely enjoyed the fact that I was able to spend time with my family.
