Christmas Movies to Watch
With Christmas coming up, I am determined to get into the Christmas mood before it passes all too soon this year. Last year, I felt like I was focusing too much on finals to be able to relish in the joy of the festivities! Therefore, I have been listening to Christmas songs nonstop just to remind myself that despite finals, this time of the year is the most magical. This blog post is dedicated to three movies that I believe everyone should watch in order to prepare for the Christmas spirit! These are mainly movies that I watch and they're some of the most common ones, honestly.
HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE

Okay, you're probably thinking, "Harry Potter's main premise isn't even centered around Christmas." But in fact, many of the Harry Potter movies actually incorporate Christmas into its plot whether it be major events or something small. In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," the school of witchcraft and wizardry holds its own yule ball where many of the other magical schools come to attend! There's a good bit of it in the movie and many of the characters dress up, learn how to dance from their professors, and even hint at some romantic relationships. Overall, Hogwart's version of their prom is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit...well before all the other bad things happen in the movie.
MICKEY'S ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS

This might seem a little too kiddy and childish for people but this Disney movie is a classic. I watched it many times growing up as Disney made sure to play it every Christmas! The movie isn't based on one plot but rather the stories of many of the famous, iconic Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. The stories leave you with a heartfelt warm feeling in your stomach as it showcases the importance of giving yet also being thankful during Christmas. There is a recurring theme of love, family, and honesty that encompass a great part of the Christmas spirit.
THE POLAR EXPRESS

Another animated Christmas classic that showcases the Christmas spirit in all it's glory. The soundtrack is amazing as it has many renditions of Christmas songs and there are original songs that many of the children sing as well. Tom Hanks voices the conductor of the train which brings more life to the movie. Watching this movie made me wish that there was such a thing as The Polar Express. The animation's crisp detail is incredibly well done and it makes it seem as if the movie wasn't made in 2004 but rather recently. Overall, this is an iconic movie and many people share the same love for its well thought out plot and it's ability to capture the essence of Christmas itself.

Wow Harry Potter is my all time favorite binge series! I can watch it over and over again and I never feel bored. Good luck with your finals and I hope you take care of yourself and remind yourself mental health > studying. School is important but you are more important and no grade defines you.
